73camaro Mar 30th, 07, 1:19 PM On the 3-4 clutch pack clearance the book says .060 to .090. The transgo shift kit says this transmission likes .015 to .030 clearance on the 3-4 pack. My question is, is Transgo refering to the 87 and up with the return springs on the clutch pack or all 700r4 transmissions? Tried to call Transgo for a few days but all it does is rings. Thanks Mark Steve1972 Mar 30th, 07, 3:44 PM Mark, I asked the same thing a few weeks ago, I was using an Alto kit and they want .025-.040 versus the ATSG manual, which was .060-.080. I was told to use the tighter clearance .025-.040. I've found a few other places that like it around .030. I got mine to come out to .035 and called it good.
