Well Jerry, I "guessed" right on your other post. So let me try again......
Looking at my notes, I'd say pinion is still a tad too deep???? (Looking at the drive side). See what the experts say.:D I'm still learning.
How much of a PITA is it to press the pinion bearing off/on. Are you using a bearing seperator in a floor press to remove it?

I'm guessing the same, should you check 3-4 different spots on the gear to be sure???

I don't think you are going to do any better on this gear. I'd go with it.

Freddie, thanks a million for your patience

Epistuff, you are getting good, but not perfect lol jkn :D
I am using the neighbors bench press, I think 6k
Very easy with the right tools. Neighbor is good too, of course that bottle I gave him for the use of the press don't hurt ;)

Yep, listen to Freddie! What the heck do I know? That is why I'll post my pics here also.
I just ordered myself a 12-ton floor press today. I am always needing a press for something, so I treated myself to one and I'll use it for the carrier and pinion bearings.

That will come in handy. I was going to buy one similiar to my neighbors but they were out of them. They were only 120.00.
Getting these patterns and backlash right isn't hard, just requires patience and little help from your friends

Thanks for your input.
