I am painting my 69 in the next couple of days and just want to make sure I have enough paint and clear. The car is disassembled so I am painting everything including, underneath trunk, door jambs and back side of the fenders. I have a gallon of Deltron DBU hugger orange paint that will be mixed 1:2 with 1 gallon of DRR 1170 reducer. 1 gallon of clear is concept 2021 mixed: 4 parts 2021, 1 part DT860, 1 part DCX61. The place I get the paint from is 40 minutes away so I want to make sure I have everything before I start. So if someone has done a similar project, please let me know if you think I have enough. Thanks

Anyone? Maybe someone who has used a similar color could tell me how much it took them. I would really appreciate it.

When I recently painted my 68, I bought 6 qts. of color because I wanted extra if I needed it in the future. (and I did need it). I got 6 qts. of clear as well cause I put 3 fairly heavy coats on. This is all before it was reduced and before hardener was added...You won't need that much clear, but if you buy a gal. and two qts. of clear you can always return the qts. The color is mixed so you can't return it, but I would save any extra in case you need it. I had to repaint my hood, door and one fender so I was glad I had plenty of color that matched...

I'm with Bill, get enough to have some left over. Mix them all together before painting, and pour them back in their cans to make sure it will match. I had to get another quart for my car and it wasn't mixed the same as the first gallon. It's like buying beer for a party...you'll probably be OK with a six pack but you grab a twelve anyway.

Not real sure about the PPG but when I sprayed that color it didn't cover real well. I'd go with at least a gallon and 1/2, do your cut ins and see how much you have left,If ya need to buy more mix it all together and shoot. Mike
