Driver's side front floor, right under the driver's feet. I found rust and a few small holes in the wiring harness channel. Moisture must have become trapped there and ate away at that area. The surrounding metal is still in good shape, so I made a patch out of 22 gauge sheetmetal. For those of you who have asked about repairing small rust holes in panels that are otherwise in good shape, yes, it can be done. I just couldn't see ripping out an entire section of floor for this.

I must say, placing a small piece of brass under the metal while welding works wonders. Not one hole was burned in this piece. I hope to finish this in the next couple of days.

thanks for the advice, im in the process of re-doing parts of my floor, right near where you explained, it goes up the the board and along the side of the kick panel.

that is a very nice job you did with that....

i guess they all rust out there i had to replace the whole side.
