I bought a floor shift column, actually I ended up buying two.One for a 65,66 and one for a 67 chevelle.I was looking at the column in my car and thought why not try and just change mine over.I cut the shifter mount off ,yada yada, hour later done.Cant tell it was a column shift. Wanta buy a floor shift column?

How did you cut it off? Do you have any pictures? I need to do the same thing.

I used a dremel with a cut off disc. Then I ground the area down with a stone wheel, comes with the dremel,.Grind the area down to where its slightly lower than the outer surface.I just put a piece of masking tape over the lowest part of the hole, bondo over area, sand ,400 wet sand ,steel wool, tape off, prime and paint.Looks really good and did it with column in car.Im not even looking forward to changing dash cluster.O,I have two FS dash clusters too.

Forgot one thing, try to stuff something in hole,I used a piece of paper towel, while grinding to keep fragments out.
