Any methods or recommendations on removing both dyes and paints on both interior hard plastics and interior soft vinyls?
This would be in preparation to either re-dye or re-paint items like armrests, sun visors, consoles, etc.

In other words, what would be the "prep steps" involved in dyeing or painting interior vinyl and plastic?

In my shop we have a full tint bank to make our own vinyl and plastic dyes,but the best product out there that I have used many times is SEM products they start with the cleaners,adhesion promoters,primers and all color dyes that come in both aerosol and spray gun mixes and at the gloss you will need.I am sure you can find them on line or at a local jobber great product.good luck
