I owned a green mist 70 for almost 18 years with a lot of the same options, mine had a black vinyl top. I like the color. It looked good enough to win "Best Muscle Car, Super Chevy Memphis, 1988, and Editors Choice, Super Chevy, Baton Rouge, 1988. Mines in upstate New York now. The present Owner Got my name from the original paperwork and called about two years ago. He gave 28K. The car has 60 something thousand miles with 3000 miles on a frame off I completed in 1988.

Mist green is a nice looking color and shouldn't hurt the value of the car. Being a Canadian built car, you can call George Zapora at GM of Canada and get documents. You probably won't find a built sheet The GM documents are as good or better than the builtsheet or POP. Here is a post from another site with all the contact info. Low 20s sounds like a fair price for the car.

Vintage Vehicle Services at GM Canada can be reached at 1-888-467-6853 in Canada, or 905-440-7689 outside of Canada, fax is 905-440-7644 and my email is george.zapora@cc.gmcanada.com, hey that's me! Just came on board, great site. My direct line is 905-440-7636.

Mist Green is a GREAT color... Much better than over-used Cranberry red... IMO...

Well Cranberry red happens to be one of the best looking colors for those cars. And I have seen several cars that claim original type Cranberry red but they are all base coat, clear coat and none of them look the same. And I hope original Cranberry cars are exempt from your comment.

I love one owner cars, especially if they kept it as original as possible and in good condition over the years.

Do you call it good condition plowing it into a Cadillac at almost 100 and then being put back together with parts from 5 cars? :p In his defense it wasn't his fault he got a toomer in his neck from agent orange. That caused him to pass out. :(

I'd be leary of someone that says they have the GMAC papers. I don't think GMAC was in business in 1970.

Looking Back: GMAC History

In the early days of the motor vehicle industry, dealers paid cash to stock their inventory, purchasing just a few vehicles at a time. With the onset of the assembly line, manufacturers wanted dealers to buy vehicles in large quantities in order to keep factories running regularly.

As a result, General Motors Acceptance Corporation was formed in 1919 to provide GM dealers with the financing they needed to maintain their vehicle inventories as well as give dealers' retail customers the ability to purchase new vehicles easily and conveniently. Insurance products soon followed.

GMAC Historical Highlights :

1919: Branches open in Detroit, New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Toronto.

1920: Expansion to Great Britain.

1928: Four millionth retail contract.

1939: Motors Insurance Corporation (MIC) formed, replacing earlier insurance products. Now a part of GMAC Insurance Holdings.
Post WWII: GMAC growth surges with that of parent GM.

1958: GMAC finances 40 millionth vehicle.

1977: 75 millionth vehicle mark.

1985: 100 million vehicles and first-ever annual earnings of $1 billion. GMAC enters the mortgage business.

1999: Highest earnings ever; purchase of Bank of N.Y.'s asset-based lending and factoring business unit creates new Commercial Finance Group.

2000: $1.6 billion earnings, a record. Global growth in all sectors of the organization. North American Operations (NAO) launches SmartAuction, an Internet-based remarketing channel for GMAC off-lease vehicles.

2001: $1.8 billion earnings, a record. Since its inception, GMAC has provided more than $1 trillion of financing for 150 million cars and trucks around the world.

2002: Nearly $1.9 billion earnings, a record. GMAC has a presence in 41 countries.

2003: Earnings surge to nearly $2.8 billion, an all-time record. SmartAuction emerges as a top Internet remarketing tool with cumulative sales to exceed one million in 2004.

2004: Net income of $2.9 billion in 2004, marking yet another year of record earnings and tenth straight year of increased profits. International Operations makes historic entrance into China; sales of insurance to GM customers increases eightfold; GMAC Automotive Bank opens its doors.

My Father in law worked for a Pontiac dealer in 1964 and if the buyer needed financing and had good credit the car lot would carry the financing. If the buyer had questionable or bad credit his boss would say better give that one to GMAC.

Well thats what really happened to it on August 23rd, 1980. :( Dad passed about because of that thing in his neck with his foot still in it. The crazy thing is he walked away from it. But the car sure didn't. Before the primer the hood was green and white, fenders were dark blue, and doors were light blue. It sucks about it but at least its put back together and being driven.
