Just pulled the heads off my $500 BB purchase...
Pistons are stamped "L2300 STD"... I am assuming these are TRW, but where do I find the data (forged, etc, dome volume, etc).

A quick measure and estimate, domes are about 12 cc...

I am running 3872702 closed chamber heads (I know I can go to Mortec and find the "factory spec" chamber volume... I guess I'll have to try and cc one of the chambers.

Next step is to pull the cam and see what it has...

I did I quick google and came up with TRW, 030 over BBC Pistons.

Mine are standard, not 030 over...

I searched google, but only came up with Ebay stuff (I can't access Ebay now anyway)...

Forged? Dome size, etc...

Thanks...

Flatlander lists the TRW 2300 piston as forged with a .140" dome. Closed chamber head will result in a CR of mid to high 9.

Thanks Bill,

I just saw that same sight...
TRW L2300F Std
CR w/ 100.9cc chamber = 9.86:1
CR w/ 106.9cc chamber = 9.35:1
CR w/ 109.4cc chamber = 9.16:1

Mortec shows my 3872702 heads with 98cc chambers... So I am probably CR=10:1 or higher...

Hmmm.

"0.140" dome"... height? I measured 2mm (0.8") dome height... I wonder if the domes were milled...
