In my 72, the trunk looks relatively solid, but the entire trunk floor area seems to be covered in rust (I've already checked the whole thing, and it doesn't look thin or have any holes anywhere). What would be a good way to clean up the rust, so I can shoot a coat of paint on it? Thanks for any help you all can offer.

Use a wire brush on the hole area then,get the loose rust out. Go to NAPA and get the rust inhibitor call EXTEND. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS, then paint.good luck

Use a stiff wire brush on a drill and use www.por15.com. (http://www.por15.com.)

I liked corroless www.eastwoodcompany.com (http://www.eastwoodcompany.com) a little better than por 15 as I found it easier to apply but have used both products and they have performed well
