We are replacing roof rail weatherstrip and all felt around qtr. windows on a 72 2 door. There is a interior rubber seal with two clips that clip to the sheet metal on the inside. The window rides up against it and seals. Ours are really bad. Can not find this piece anywhere. Is about 11" long with metal inside with 2 clips. Any help would greatl be appreciated.

can,
Not sure what part you are talking about ? How about a picture. My 71 just has the outer felt and the inner felt that goes on the interior panel ? Unless I am remembering wrong :( I guess I could put my shoes on and walk out to take a look.

This piece is actual a vertical piece inside attached to the sheetmetal that the side sails cover.

If someone has a body manual a part number and name would be great!

Canu,
OK, had to put my shoes on and walk out to the garage to see what you are talking about. The Fisher body manual calls it the "Rear quarter window rear inner sealing strip" Part number 9808514 (RH) and 9808515 (LH) Its in group 11.015 in the parts book. Good luck finding them :(

That will be $10 for the research service :D

I think this is a picture of it:

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!! That is it. Now if I only knew where to find one. Have you ever heard of anyone replacing this part?

At least now I can sleep knowing I am not crazy and there really is such a part.

Thanks Again! And if anyone know where to find two.

Kevin

Kevin,
You could start with a local dealer and have them do a search, but I doubt anything will show up. I guess the junk yard would be next. Fortunately, mine are in good shape.

There's a used set on ebay at the moment #4648246436. $45, but they look decent. Happened to be looking for the same seals myself and found a used set for $20. Hope that helps! Dave

Yikes!

I didn't know these were unobtainable. I better put them somewhere safe when I get home!
