Most of the frame and rear underbody is painted with POR-15. It looks great but there are areas that are way to hard to get with a brush. Has anybody sprayed it ? How thin should I make it and is it really messy? My body is literally dotted with POR from doing it this week. I even had some specks on my teeth!

I ONLY spray this stuff. Comes out real nice. Have to use the thinner POR recommends though. Add about 10-15%.

Be SURE to wear a respirator. I've shot this in good ventilation with a normal mask, and it's not nearly good enough! Stopped immediately and got a resp. READ THE WARNINGS ON THE CAN -IT'S FOR REAL!!!
Other than that, it's great stuff and looks fab when sprayed!

If you read the can the say to use a Supplied Air Resperator or an Self Contained Breathing Apparatus. This is serious stuff. They don't want you to filter the air around you, they want you to be supplied pressurized air from another source.
Be Safe.

100% proper ventilation or ?
Having said that, we have done several areas our our '69.
Sprayed the firewall, it made us "Professionals" (POR Silver)!
Shame that we covered it up with stainless steel.
Hope this helps/

I've got a VW daily driver that is in pretty good shape with just minimal surface rust on the underbody. Any ideas on how much material and cost to do a smaller car underbody?

Heed the warnings about the effects of overspray and use proper breathing equipment. Also, the overspray will settle on you garage floor. Don't walk through it barefooted like someone else I know. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/redface.gif It'll stick to the bottom of your feet for a few days!!
