I just acquired these photos and thought I would share them with you guys. They are original from the 1930's and show a VERY badly damaged 1930ish sedan (anyone know what kind of car?) then the car with a proud repair man next to it when like new again.

These photos have really grabbed me, it is like a time machine, I have to wonder where this man is today, if he is still alive. The garage looks exactly like one that was in my home town that sat on a corner of a busy intersection. The corner of the building had hole in each side so you drove your car through the building on the corner to reach the gas pumps. Of course this same style building was/is in towns all across America so I am not saying it is the one I remember seeing as a kid.

Anyway, if any of you have any similar photos, I would love the opportunity to buy them. I don't care if they are only twenty years old, I would like to see them at least. I am just thinking it would be a cool collection to have.

Sorry for the poor scan, in person the photos are crystal clear with near perfect lighting.

That really makes you appreciate the coach builders and artists that lived many moons ago. Thanks for sharing with us.

Took some of this 2005 Toyota Camary I was working on. Even some of me in it so I could send them back home to Iowa.

Anyway those are pretty cool, should make for a nice collection graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Brian, I'm going to take a near guess and say that's about a 1925 Dodge Bros. My folks have had a '26 Dodge Business Coupe for years and the lines and trim are near identical. It may be a year or two earlier than that, but not much earlier than a '23 or '24.

Unfortuantely, there wasn't a lot of imagination in style so many makes looked very similar, but looking at the solid wheels, the barely visible EXTERNAL sun-visor, the double-rungs of the bumpers and the low-keyed lay of the hood ornament wings all look familiar.

Wonder how one does that sort of damage to a car...?

Unfortuantely, there wasn't a lot of imagination in style so many makes looked very similar I hear ya there, I picked up the back half of a 28/29 model A coupe body awhile back from my neighbor. Only the rear of the car body from the doors back. Another neighbor had a 4 door sedan body that I picked up that I think I've identified as a late 20's Whippet? Both are extremely rusty and the floors were completely gone so I sectioned the sedan through the middle and removed the roof. I then slid the cowl and front door wection of the Whippet up to the rear section of the model A I have and they actually go together quite nice! The body lines around the windows match perfectly, the side bodyline just below the belt even matches up! The proportions are better than a stock model A coupe. Now if I just had time to do a rod project I'd be all set. Maybe someday.

Eric, those pictures would look too much like WORK! smile.gif
Dittoz, I was thinking the same thing on the damage, it must have been sandwiched between a Cad Escalade and a Lincoln Navigator smile.gif

Hey Sevt,

I'm impressed withh the Model B. Did one myself not too long ago. In my opinion, the only thing that sounds better than a nice cam in a bowtie with duals is the thump of a two-banger Deere. They are equally as unique sounding. You can here them for a mile at idle graemlins/thumbsup.gif

No such thing as plastic filler back in those days. Maybe hammer-welding?
