I have a 72 Chevelle and was wondering if anyone could tell (if they had it done) about how much a body shop charges for replacing quarter panels thanks! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Gary the only way I would do a quarter on a 70-72 chevelle is replace with a goodmark. Ive gone both NOS and goodmarks and they are damn close in quailty as NOS quarters. Goodmarks costs around 650 by the time you pay shipping. The mitchell crash books list R&R time for quarters is 13.2hrs per side. Now the hourly rate at the shop I work is 45 bucks. Take your 13.2hrs X 45 bucks and you get 594 bucks per side to replace, now that is just in labor now add that to your 650 quarter and you get a actual cost of 1244 per side

Now keep in mind that once they remove that quarter they might find that you need to replace the outer wheel well and trunk ext, which all adds up on the bill. Also keep in mind that shop rates are different in different parts of the country. Plus it shouldnt take no 13.2 hrs to replace a quarter, but this gives you a idea...Eric
