I've got a 307 with stock ignition (points). Rummaging thru car parts from past cars, I came across a hardly used Accel Super Coil. Will this work ok with my ignition? Seems like somewhere I saw that this coil should be wired up using a resistor to keep the points from burning up prematurely. Any thought on this? Thanks, George.

I used one for years with points. Yes, you need a ballist resistor in addition to the resistor wire.
