: 69 fuel filter/lines
jtm60 Mar 24th, 07, 10:49 AM I am currently running an Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold on my 396. I would like to eventually get the correct fuel lines on it..its a 350HP car but I am running a single fuel line with an inline filter down near the fuel pump.
I want to use the factory style filter mounted near the water pump, with the vent line return (and paint the manifold orange for a more stock look)..but when I tried doing it before, nothing seemed to fit right..the more I think about it, maybe it was a combination of the aftermarket lines/filter (larger?) and orientation of the upper hose coming off the RPM manifold?
Is anyone else running the RPM with the stock style lines and filter? Pics? How'd you do it?
1badss396 Mar 24th, 07, 12:03 PM I hope this helps you out, this is stock. I got all my lines at rightstuffdetailing.com for my 396/350

jtm60 Mar 24th, 07, 3:26 PM that is helpful..good photo, and what I am looking at making mine look like..I had all of the stuff before, but I returned it, as none of it seemed to fit the way it was supposed to.
If someone has a similar photo, using a performer rpm manifold, with the stock lines and filter as shown above, i'd love to see it.

I have a performer 2-0 which the plenum isn't much if any shorter than the Performer RPM I believe.

JTM60,
I've got the exact same set up on my Elky as "Bad Brad" but I'm using the Edelbrock 2161 Performer. I'll try and take a pic of it in the AM and post it. It took about a 1/4" bend to make it fit compared to the stock cast iron intake I took off. It was a piece of cake. Now, finding the right fuel folter....that's a whole other story. If anyone has a GF432 and would like to share I still need a couple. ;)
jtm60 Mar 24th, 07, 9:04 PM cool, keep the info comin'!
136679ss Mar 24th, 07, 11:39 PM Dave, so long as you aren't looking for NOS, they Repop the 432. otherwise it's 50-100 on fleebay.
jtm60 Mar 25th, 07, 2:24 AM The repop 432 i had seemed like it was too large a diameter to work properly..anyone ever compared them side by side?

Thanks Brad (Oops ....Bourgeois!). Theye WERE making them repro but they stopped. No none seems to have any anywhere and no one knows when they will start making them. I spoke to the guy that had been making them for the last 10 years. :(
The ones that are available as was said above are not the same size and will not fit in the original bracket without some "engineering".

I was lucky when I got my gf432 filters I got a few of them just so I would have some extra. I think I have 2-3 extra for everything for my 69 so far:D.
