In need of some help.....

I'm converting to a floor shifter with console and need to know the correct location for the three (3) brackets that attach to the tunnel to hold the console in place. I'd would like to weld these in place before painting the underside of the body. Does anyone have the dimensions or a photo of the bracket location?

Thanks!!! ____________

I'm pretty sure that it is in the assembly manual. Alot of people hear have done that so someone here has to know.

Maybe this old post will help. If you locate the shifter hole you could gauge where the brackets will go from their position on the console location.

on my 66 if you make a center mark on the hump,(I measured from kickpanel pinchweld to kickpanel pinchweld and split the measurment in half)the right edge of the hole is 3/4 inch to the drivers side off the center mark and is the right side of the shifter hole if you were looking at it sitting in the drivers seat.I then clamped a string from kickpanel pinchweld edge to kickpanel pinchweld edge so the string ran level over the top of the center hump, measureing off the string towards the back of the car its 3 inches to the foward edge of the hole, the hole is 4 1/4 inches side to side and is 6 inches front to back,Darryl

If you do not have a console I have not installed mine from OPG and can get you those measurements if needed. Just PM me.
