Is there a reproduction of this for 1966?

The auction says 67 but that is a 66 Chevelle only. The 67 one matches the 67 dash better.

There are also 2 different plates for '66 (and I guess 2 for '67).

The Malibu/SS uses the thick plastic ones, whereas the 300/300 deluxe (models without the "chrome trim over the glove box) use a thin curved metal piece...

Oh, and before someone has a fit, its "technically" not a Radio "Delete" plate. Since the radio was an option (standard was the 'delete'), you technically weren't deleting the radio, just NOT ordering it (when new)...

I still usually call it a radio Delete plate myself... :p

If it helps at all, I have one from a 66 if you need a picture.
Mine needs restoring but don't know the best way to go about it.
I'm sure there will be a few in the swap meets this summer.
I'll keep my eyes open.

Hey guys...forgive me for kinda hijacking this thread...
I read this post at lunchtime today, realized there must be a need for these panels, and quickly sketched this up in my CAD software. Take a look. Does anyone think there would be a demand for these? I could pretty much laser cut anything you want in there, and make it from either brushed aluminum or stainless. I also have in-house powder coating capability. It hadn't occurred to me because I guess I didn't think that many people were going radio delete. What does everyone think?

Since the vacuum-chromed plastic pieces for the dash are reproduced, you'd think that a block-off plate wouldn't be a stretch to knock off. I guess the assumption is that there would be no demand, but if you see what they seem to go for then there would be a business case for making them.

Although there were 2 different style block-offs for '66, there is a '67 300 2-door post near me that I see once every blue moon. The old guy still doesn't have a radio in it, and the block-off is like a Malibu. The paint is a little thin in spots, the body is fairly solid but shows the ravages of time. The only option on the car is a Powerglide. It is Nantucket Blue with blue cloth & vinyl, has a non-badged 230, and a vintage suicide knob on the steering wheel. The guy definitely looks like a cheapskate, not a vintage Chevelle enthusiast (I figure a lot of original 300 buyers with sixes were cheapskates. Sorry...)

Hell, if it wasn't too expensive I'd buy one if it looked authentic.

I have had no luck in locating a radio delete plate for '67 Chevelle SS......is there anyone out there that has or knows where I can find a radio delete plate in good to excellent shape?

Why in heck do they make an aftermarket plate for a '69 chevelle, but not a 66 or 67 (rhetorical question)
