Rookie question here. I'm converting to disks on the front while I'm at it I am going to refresh the front end. My question is, what kit should I get out of these two? I have a 71 coupe ss clone. Circular or Oval?

Your car most likely has oval, but you'll need to look to verify. It will be the rear bushing of the front lower A-arms you need to look at.

The use of oval bushings began in '70 on all non-SS chevelle models, however some documented SS cars have been found with ovals, and some non-SS cars have been found with round... and some with one of each. :clonk:

What am I actually looking at that is round or oval? The busing itself or a cut out or what? Thanks for the help on the previous thread. Sheads a little light on the subject. Was one better than the other?

Oval bushings deflect more for a softer ride, round deflect less for better performance...

Here's a good link showing the 3 types of A-arms chevelles had:

That was the perfect answer. Thank you very much. I'm slowly starting to understand all this Chevelle suspension business!

Well since I now what I'm looking for I jerked off the wheels and found out that I have ovals on my 71. They are easy to feel for it you know what you are looking for. I've already put in the order. Thanks everyone.
