I was wondering if anybody has used POR15 for rust on body panels (1/4's or rear window corners ect...)? Company say's you can, filling any holes with the 2 part pody and then painting over it with the silver por15. I have a 72 chevelle with the usual rusted areas.
Thanks
Joe

I have and it works well. You must use their directions when applying.

I asked the POR rep that was at Carlisle and he said (he) didn't recommend using it for the external surface of body panels. Mainly because it's so hard to sand or "work in". FWIW

I just did my :core support, inner fender wells, and top support with that stuff....it's hard as nails !!My only advice is to only use it where you won't see it!I hear that if you spray it, that it looks alot better, but I don't have experience with that, Good luck
P.S. I did the inside of my fenders with it also.Only put it on bare metal!!

Our last fight was my fault: My wife asked me "What's on the TV?"
I said, "Dust!"

I just started using POR. Does anyone else have problems mixing the silver? The can I bought was really separated and I had a really hard time getting it to blend. I just finished doing the front half of my frame with black, and like an idiot, I forgot that it doesn't like UV light, so now that it's been sitting in the sun for a week it is all dull. I used the silver on the bottoms of my quarter panels because they were really pitted and messed up looking. They look like they should last another 20 years now. The por site says you can apply filler directly over it, but I haven't tried yet. I'll probable try it tomorrow.
