No one out of 23 views knows anything about carpet or interior?

Come on guys I was hoping to order tonight and would like to make an informed decision.

Did I post this in the wrong section?

ordered my original style molded carpet from GU for my 70. Alittle trimming and it fit great. I can't remember what vendor they use.

Thanks chevelless1

I will look at their carpet.

There was a thread a while back on this but I did a search and couldn't find it.

I appreciate the help!!!!!

I did my 70 with opgi, molded carpet... Was a perfect install.. What Ive gathered here is that basically they are all good.. I went with the price at the time also considering other parts that I needed and was getting from them.. Just do a search on carpet quality and decide for yourself,,,,good luck phil

I got my whole interior from OPGI and am very happy the carpet fits up great. I also put the carpet in my el camino from OPGI and was very happy. Go with OPGI.

Ditto on Kitch & Phil's comments. Very happy with the quality and fit. The only thing that made me think twice was the oversized shipping charges for these large items from the West coast to the East. In the end I'm glad I did.

You're pretty safe as long as you do not order it from JC Whitney...I'd just check out the sponsor of this site...

I just installed carpet from Stock Interiors.

I was not impressed with the fit in my 72 elky. Once I laid it out on the floor pan with the moulded areas in the correct spot, the material was way higher over the tranny tunnel. Also, the heel pad seemed a little out of position(toward the seat a little too much).

I solved the problem over the tranny by starting on the driver side with the heel pad in position(as best I could) and worked towards the passenger side pressing down on the carpet as I went. It was a little tricky with the shifter but I just started with a slit and cut as needed from there.

The carpet itself is of good quality and is supposed to be fade resistent. That's the only reason I replaced the carpet that was in it, it was faded severely. I got it from NPD and it fit pretty good as I remember when I put it in about 7 years ago.

Again I will say you have to be very very specific when ordering carpets...4 speed or auto...2wd or 4wd...2 door or 4 door...with or without cutouts (most people don't realize you can order carpets from ACC that have seat bolt and seat belt holes already cutout) etc....

Just ordered from GU and what a great bunch of guys!!!
I called and had to call back and was treated like Royalty!

And while I was at it I ordered a new back package deck and side sails.

Can hardly wait to thrash and install my new items.
