: 65 Biscayne guy here
65cayne Mar 20th, 07, 2:13 PM Been to many forums. All are very interesting and helpful to read through. This one is no exception. Purchased my car a little over a year ago (not a chevelle, sorry) and hope to be putting it on the road this spring. Never new what a biscayne was prior to that and it just fell in my lap. Wouldnt trade it for anything now. I dont know for sure how rare it is, but I have never seen another one like it cruising around (saw a 2dr at a swap meet once, and a 66 bel one other time in town).
On the outside, it looks identical to the cream colored '65 that sold on BJ Auction about a month ago (if anyone knows what color that was, lemme know, I need a re-paint).
That said, it's a little rough around the edges. Just installed a 454ci/TH400 combo (original I6/3-tree, PO had a 350/TH350, I bought it minus motor/trans) and am trying to get running on the street before I tackle anything else.
Cheers..:beers:

Just kidding chevelle people. When I set out to get a project, I originally was searching for a 66-69 chevelle (my favorite yrs)....never would have guessed I would pick this thing up (the bisc).
Anyway, nice to be here.:hurray: You guys have cool emoticons.
mn65bis Mar 21st, 07, 12:18 PM There's something about a plain jane Biscayne... I never thought I would own one either.
65cayne Mar 21st, 07, 2:06 PM for those interested biscayne fans... I tried posting some pics online (first time, bare with me...). The before shots of my engine bay wont view for some reason...lemme know if it doesnt work.

BigBlock71SS Mar 21st, 07, 11:26 PM Welcome. I love the full-size Chevys too. I've got a 65 Biscayne Wagon that I'm fixing up. When the Elco is out of commission because of yet another modification the wagon is my vehicle of choice.
dgwar Mar 21st, 07, 11:38 PM I'm doing a 61 Impala 4 door sport coupe. And the color is Ermine White, I think.

Are you referring back to my color question? If so, Thanks.
BTW: VERY COOL project you have there! Some day I need to document the progress on mine. Or lack thereof....As somewhat of a newby, it's taken quite a while just to chase parts and do my BBC conversion.
Welcome! I guess you could say that Biscaynes and I go way back. After I was born I came home from the hospital in a '61. Although it's black & white, here's a picture of me taken in the late 60's with my sister and I beside dad's Sandlewood Tan '66 Biscayne 4-door : http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/showphoto.php/photo/10962/size/big/ppuser/335
After that we owned a stripped '70 Biscayne (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/showphoto.php/photo/5008/size/big/ppuser/335), then a '74 (they were Canada-only after '72 through '75). Personally I'd love any Biscayne from '58 through the late sixties powered by anything from a humble six through a healthy big-block Baldwin-Motion Street Racer Special.
Mr Chevelle Mar 31st, 07, 6:19 PM Welcome! After Chevelles, the '65-68 fullsize chevys are my next favorite.
Like Derek says!
I've been looking for a nice 66 for many years, almost bought a blue BB/column stick last year.
Welcome!

ZAPPER68 Apr 18th, 07, 12:38 PM :) I own a '66 L72 bench seat 4 speed Biscayne. Aztec Bronze with a fawn interior, 16K original miles. Goes like hell but doesn't like to stop too good.
Love those full size Chevys.

65cayne Apr 18th, 07, 1:17 PM 16K ??? Did you find that in a time capsule? Sounds awsome....I want to assume that you are not enjoying it at your current locale?

Nope. A friend actually found it in a barn a few years ago. He knew the car since it was delivered to his wife's cousin in '66. It was raced extensively and I am lucky to have a polaroid picture of it going down the track at Minnesota Dragways taken in September of '66. I also have a timing slip from Brainerd Int'l Raceway when the car ran a 12.549 @ 110.83 mph.
I keep the car at my brother's in MN and unfortunately get to drive it only a couple of times a year. It's too hot over here to drive anything without air conditioning, but it would love this high octane leaded gas available at the pumps.
