Hi Guys,

I have been looking into adding a rear sway bar on my car to tighten up the handleing. I currently have 3 sided arms. I have seen where they sell the inserts to box them in. I was wondering if anyone has done this mod and what are the opinions on it. I looked at my arms and they are not drilled, so I am also wondering how you lined the bar up to drill them?

Thanks.
Frank

I recently completed boxing and adding a rear sway bar to my '66 wagon.
The inserts can be purchased from most any Chevelle parts vendor and the project instructions can be found in the "TECH" section on this website.

I've done this upgrade numerous times on other projects...an easy job and well worth the effort.

One tip...drill the sway bar holes in your control arms first using the dimensions listed in the Tech section link, then use those holes to locate the boxing insert before welding. Center the "loops" of the inserts around the drill holes.

Glenn's website is another great reference for what you're trying to accomplish...

He also offers this service at a very reasonable price if interested.

Hi Bill,

That makes sense. Good pics also. There is nothing like a picture.

Thanks Again!
