mjpell Apr 17th, 02, 4:50 PM I attached my alum tubs with seam sealer. Just 'glue' them to the quarter panel. Mine are very solid, and I dread ever having to take them out.
Good luck,
406_70_velle Apr 17th, 02, 5:30 PM Did you butt the edge of the tub to the fender or did you fold a lip?
How much is the seam sealer? And how much did you use?
Thanks for the help…

406_70_velle Apr 19th, 02, 2:49 PM My thought was if there was a lip then it would be easier to weld/adhere to the fender. The problem here is when the fender moves and such how would you measure, bend and trim the tub itself?
Thanks…

easiest way we found is to cut the inner wheel well out first.if you are using stock frame rails then trim out a piece of cardboard to create the arch of the tub butting against the curvature of the quarter panel.transfer this template to the tub and trim it out.press this part of the tub into the half moon shaped panel, position it into the wheel opening and spot weld the vertical panel onto the framerail or floor[depending on how wide you need the tubs]spot weld the arch part of the tub to the floor and then use a urethane sealer to seal all the joints[do not weld the tub to the quarter panels or it will buckle the quarters whenever the body flexes.
