Very interesting! The 330 is a pretty collectible tractor to begin with, Serial #1 makes it extremely valuable... I'd expect it to go way higher before it's ended.

Yes,I'm sure it will go way higher with the radid J.D. collectors.Have seen the high crop 30 series in the 6 figure range.

I'm thinking it's mostly about the #1 serial number on that one. I wonder what my uncle's collection is worth. He restores them for a hobby, has probably 10 tractors now, mostly 40's and 50's JD's, one '46 A-C too. He puts on the largest tractor show in New England these days, too.

The old tractor hobby is like cars, people do steal tags.A lot of the old tractors had their tags knocked off during years of farming, and now the bad people restoring them will steal your tag off at an old tractor show to make theirs worth more.

I belive it, my neighbor has over 500 tractors in his yard, he restores them all the time and he showed me a few of them that are worth over 250K, I would have never thought they could be worth so much coin.

The funny thing is, the old John Deeres are practically worthless to use as tractors... the only time you see one in use is at a tractor-show. You see Binders and Fords still being used by farmers everywhere you go, but rarely ever a 2-cylinder Deere.

Ford had a Power Shift while John Deere was still using a hand-clutch.

Just think of it as a 401K retirement plan...

The market will fluxuate and maybe in 10 years I'll sell my El Camino for $50k...

I've got a 49 JD B,best hayrake tractor we've had.Can put the wife or one of the kids on it,put it in 5th gear and rake hay all day long for pennys.Have a JD 720 diesel, its a good tillage tractor ,but worthless on the PTO.Ford did have the infamous selecto-speed when JD hand the hand clutch but I don't want to get into its reputation.I,m not a JD person, far from it.All old tractors had there good and bad points.Hope your foot feels better ,Brad.
