Took my car to the strip Friday. Now I have about a 1/4 inch of rubber on my rear quarter panels. How do I get this off without damaging the paint?

And a good follow-up question; what can you put on there to keep it from sticking in the first place? I seem to remember someone mentioning putting vasline on the lower quarters prior to a trip to the track, but wouldn't vaseline soften the paint?
By the way, where are you racing down there?

Randy, I have heard to use Pam or wd-40 before hand. Neither of which I did. Iguess if I don't get any more suggestions, I am going to try wd-40 or diesel and see if that will loosen it.
I went to Sealy with Wes Colby, Jason Gore, John Wilson and Mike Hurta Friday night. Also met Andy Baker and Dave Gumm. The closest track around here is Temple Academy, 9 miles south of Temple on Highway 95.

Try Bleachy-White. I think I remember that working for me.

I use drywash on my car and have just let the rubber sit overnight to get hard then wipe it off, first with a sweep of my hand then the balance with a wet shammy.

Other I know use Pam, seems to work good too. Also a good tip for your trip to a car show, works wonders on the front end chrome for bugs and splatter on the way there, with a quick wipe your ready for the officials.

Pass ya later,
Greg

I was wondering if you were racing at the new quarter mile track outside of Seguin. I've heard it's a good facility.
I know about the track in Temple. It's been there longer than there's been dirt. We used to go to that one in the seventies. It's good to see it's still open.
