The paint on my car is not original but it looks about that old. I mean it is all there but it has became very dull over the years. I was wondering if any of you guys could help me try and bring back the paint, I have tryed mother's brand wax, hand rubbed it in and didnt seem to help. Should I buy a buffer? what type of max/compound should i use to try to resore some of the luster? there isnt any clear over the paint either.

Buffing takes time and patience. Depending on condition of old finish, sometimes a LOT of time. It is very difficult to describe possible techniques. Can show you much easier, if you ever get to the south side of the Cities, be more than happy to give a crash course at my shop. Let me Know if you need help. If your old finish is really bad or faded, results will be marginal and probably not last. Karl
