I was attempting to install the firewall pad today and I was starting to wonder if I got the right one. What a strugle.I got the heater box side in and over as far as the gas pedal. It doesn't look right above and left of that and there are so many pre-cuts it's nearly impossible to tell what to do.Are they all this difficult.I am about to take a razor blade to it and just make it fit.I did verify I got the 68-72 non AC part.

thanks

I did mine wihen the dash and EVERYTHING else was still removed and it was simple. If your trying to do this job with the car all together, it's can be difficult. the insulation goes behind the fuse block, gas pedal, heater box, etc. It also goes around the steering column. If you trying to do this with all that stuff in the way, you may have to do some cutting, or remove the things I mentioned.

As Bill stated, lots of stuff that bolts on after the pad is positioned. I had the same problem, so pulled everything and the pad went right in.

All those parts mentioned are removed. This thing has so many pre-cuts it is ridiculous.Even some of the holes for the grommets to attach it are wrong.I ordered a new pad from year one this morning in the hopes it fits better.I bought this about six years ago from another vendor and didn't try it until now.The dashpad I got from them didn't fit either and the new one dropped in easily.
