Well I have a promble with 70 Chevelle right side is higher than the left. Has anyone found the fix for this? I have installed new front and rear poly control arm bushings both front and rear springs, fronts springs are in the first drain hoe postion.New poly body mounts. New shocks up front and rear. Tires have the same air pressure. Tighten all suspension bolts and sway bars with car on level ground and full weight. Height on drivers is off by 3/4 inch compare to right side. I measured ride height before I installed all parts.
I am thinking of installing air lift kit to fix this promble, will install in both rear springs and adjust height to even out. Any thoughs are welcomed.

This appears to be a common problem with Chevelles (and other A body cars) There are lots of posts on this site but, like you I have never read a solution to it. I would LOVE to hear one though.

Full size cars as well.
After replacing all 4 springs, shocks, etc. It annoyed me so much I cut half a coil of a rear spring to level it up, after taking measurements all over the frame and body, I concluded it was a combination of slightly worn and sagged bushes and body mounts that added up to allmost an inch on the drivers side, but that was as far as I could afford to go.
If you've replaced everything ? I hate to say it, bent frame maybe ?

usually it means the driver needs to lose a few pounds!...sorry, it was tooooo easy and couldn't resist! Actually, my 66 chevelle had this problem too. I installed new shocks in the front but it didn't help much. Then, I installed a set of air shocks in the rear and when I lifted the car up in the rear, the front evened out a bit. Not sure why, but it did. Now it has a badass looking rake to it too!

...another great reason to run 9.5" springs with adjustable shims. :)

Both my '69 and '66 were about an inch lower on the passenger side with the shims adjusted equal.

Well I just got in from taking the chevelle out. The ride is great with the poly bushings. New springs make a difference. The jegsters rear adj control arms are parell to the frame.I know the frame is not bent had it checked. Will try the air bags will use 2 seperate lines. Derek you got a link to there site for these shims for springs? Are shims for both front and rears? After all is well will take it in for wheel aliment.

you can do a simple test to see if it's suspension or not. Jack up the front with a small block of wood smack in the middle of the crossmember till the wheels are off the ground, If not level ? chances are it's the rear, do the same with the jack and small block of wood in the middle of the rear axle, not level ? it's the front. (DONT GET UNDER IT LIKE THIS) Also badly aligned front sheet metal and bumper can also make it appear to sag on one side. Spacers for stock coil springs dosen't work, it's different for coil overs.

Ride height adjustability for way less than coilovers...

http://www.speedwaymotors.com/p/3389,154_Adjustable-Hidden-Spring-Shim.html (tall style, $29.95ea)

I know you can buy them, but how does the end of the coil locate properly in the control arm or up in the spring tower ? Am I missing something ?

The adjuster goes on top, and just rides in there like a spring would.
