I just finished up my underside of my car and it looks so good with the regular undercoating i want to paint it, but i used the 3m unpaintable undercoating. Can i spray their paintable undercoating on it then paint or must i scrape it all back off?

That's a good question. I scraped all of the original crap off and used MarHyde's paintable just in case I want to paint different areas in the future. Plus the paintable undercoating is tougher than non-paintable.
Which gets me to my opinion (only MY opinion!) of whether it'll work or not... I played with different brands and different types before deciding on MarHydes paintable. If the 3M unpaintable is sticky, stays plyable, or easy to remove with your fingernail, I wouldn't put the paintable over it and then hope paint sticks to it.
The paintable undercoats seemed to set harder and thinner than the unpaintables, and look just as good. I would think it would\could end up cracking or splitting and coming off because of the "looser" undercoating under it, and definitely wouldn't make a good base for paint afterwards.
Like I said, this is an uneducated guess. I hope it made sense! smile.gif
