i want to paint my steering gear box, most i've seen are silver, or aluminum? por? suggestions please.

IMO I would not use silver or aluminum paint. I would go with cast iron grey if you want a more natural look.

Yes, do not use silver...for correctness, it should be Natural or Phoscoated....if you go with Seimores CAST BLAST or Eastwood's Cast Gray...that will give the correct appeaance.
