Will be changing my 2003 Impala 3.8 transmission fluid this Spring. Can I use the original gasket (metal) 1 more time? The originals are much better than the plain cork ones you buy. Hate to waste 7.4 qts. of fluid just to save a few bucks, though. Any body re-use one with no leaks?

how much is a dealer gasket and filter?

Filter is about $19, the good gasket is $20+. Cheapo is about $6. Local auto store, not dealer.

If it is rubber coated, sure you can.
