Just received my parts catalog from Danchuck. What a great catalog, excellent layout, prices seem very good also. I need to replace my bent-up 67 SS grille. Has anyone purchased one of these aftermarket grilles?? I know that Danchuck is a parts reproduction manufacturer so their grilles may be pretty good quality. What are your opinions of these grilles. Any brand seem better than others? Thanks, M22

Well, as far as I've heard and know, all the resto company's carry the same 67 grill (only one repro) and they are made overseas. I bought one for my 67 it had overspray all over it the paint was thin, it had casting scars it's pretty bad and it took some work to get it to fit right. The rivet holes would not line up and I had to drill another hole in the core support for alignment purposes. I fixed the overspray on my grill looks good from about 10-15 feet away but you can definitely tell its crap quality as you get closer. If you have a show car buy NOS or have your original redone. For now I'm using the repop one on my 67 in hopes maybe GM, trim parts or someone will come out with a good grill. If they dont real soon I'm going to look for an NOS. You can see a pic of the front of my 67 here http://chevelles.com/showroom/hot66ss3
But its not a real good shot of the grill

Good luck

BTW. NOS grills go for about $400 and it will cost you about $350 to have you originalredone

Check this one out. I don't know the seller, just saw it after I read this post.
Hate to see good American dollars wasted on Chinese made junk.

Egads! I'm glad I stumbled on this post. I was considering a reproduction grille for my 67, but if they're that bad, maybe I'll hold off for NOS myself.

Can the same be said for the rest of the trim? Eyebrows? Trunk moulding? I bought a reproduction trunk lip moulding from an outfit in Oklahoma city and I thought it looked pretty good. Maybe it's because the repro was shiny and my old one was shot all to heck. Hmmm...

NOS grills are pretty hard to find now. 67's don't have eyebrow moldings I'll tell you what trim I have bought repro liked and disliked to try and save y'all some time and $$

Grill extensions- I got the GM ones and they look great and a test fit seem ok

Grill- well you know the story

Trunk molding looks good but I have yet to put it on.

Upper rear molding- looks ok test fit reviles possible somewhat sloppy fit. will see

Lower rear molding- looks good but required MAJOR time to make it line up and fit, still not 100%. At the ends of the molding I had to trim the metal so it would fit over the rear tail light pieces. Crap trim not even the same length as my original.

Rear taillight chrome surroundings-fit great look great. Buy NOS lenses

gutter molding= TOTAL JUNK

Hope this saves someone some time and $$

I bought a repop '67 SS grill about 7 years ago, sent it back and had a original '67 SS grill stripped polished and anodized turned out much better than a repop.
I than hit a deer 2 1/2 years ago trashed the grill.
I found 3 NOS '67 SS grills but $1,000 a piece was a little much.
I bought 3 used original '67 SS grills, sent the best one out the be restored/anodized
and it now looks NOS.
Malibu grills go for $200-$400 NOS.
I would not go repop find a good used grill and have it professionaly restored.
There is still lots of H/L bezels, extenions, and all '67 trim can be found NOS but the SS grill will be pricey.
BTW, Butches trim in big bend Wi. stripped, polished.and did factory style andoizing on my grill for $150.00 and looks as good as NOS.I have had great luck with his services.
