I have a 71 chevelle malibu with a bench seat and column shifter and am going to convert it to buckets and a console. I am assuming that the old seatbelts used for the middle passenger on the bench seat should be removed. Are there any other differences between the seatbelts of a bench seat car and a bucket seat car?

If anybody has done this swap, can you offer any tips or things to watch out for?

I also have a question, I have a bench front in a 1970 and I would like top put in a 5 point harness... what do I need top do?

Bucket seat cars have two belts w/buckles attached at the transmission tunnel, one connects to the reel at the seat base and the other to the shoulder belt attached at the roof line.
