This was a 327 car can still see the faded engine size on the fender. With power glide and A/C. Came with a very nice 1966 standard dash, looking to trade for an A/C dash in like condition. Thank for such a great site.

go to ebay, that is where I got all my a/c stuff for stock dash conversion. I smoothed out all the firewall and am going to put in a classic auto air. Hope this helps..

The 66 dash was IN the car or was it an extra piece? There are differences between 66 and 67 dash assemblies.

The person I got the car from took out the A/C dash to install in his 66 Chevelle and sat the 1966 dash on the front seat. What is the dif beside the woodgrain dash strip?

The wiper knob on the 1967 dash is moved approximately 1/2-inch to the right to facilitate collapsible steering column and hazard warning flashers that became standard on the 1967 model year. The 1966 switches measure approximately 2 13/16-inches from headlamp-to-wiper while the 1967 switches measure approximately 3 3/8-inches.
I'm not sure about the opening (probably the same physical size), but the A/C-heater control unit, switch, and levers are different between the two years.
Probably not an issue if you're just looking for the dash skeleton but the instrument cluster has differences. They're both physically the same size but the 67 incorporated the high beam indicator in the dash face with the speedometer and changed the warning lamps to incorporate the brake warning system lamp. Ignition bezels are different between the two years but, again, that may not be an issue.
Bottom line, if you have a 67 I'd look for a 67 A/C dash and be sure you get the A/C outlets if you can - they're hard to find.

The 66 dash also needs a 66 column to go with it. 67 column is collapsable and wont work on a 66 dash.
