okay i got the games to install on my pc but when i try to run generals and zero hour it goes to the loading screen and about the time you think it is gonna load it stays in windows. all the other games in the set work. my pc is running windows xp media center edition. does have plenty of power.

Even though you have ZH installed, does Generals work at all when u try to launch that? If it doesnt it would suggest something went wrong with the Generals install, which would corrupt ZH too.

You may need to do a reinstall, and try running Generals first then go to ZH. Have you patched the game? Get Generals patch 1.4, and ZH patch 1.02. Or later I suppose, but those are the patches I have.

i would try a reinstall, if that doesnt work, perhaps get a no cd/dvd crack. PITA to use the dvd anyways.

I cant see it being the OS as I know the game does work with XP media center. All essensial files to run games in the OS are the same between all XP versions. Did u try the patches?

yep. it has worked with no problems on xp home. it is kinda odd that it is the only game on the dvd that does not work on media center edition

it is a store bought copy. generals is the only game that is on the disc that does not work.

could be video drivers and or maybe a plug in like direct x. I have ran into issues like this before. Do you have a powerful video card I had to buy a new card to even run generals. Now I have a new gaming laptop so it isn't an issue but the laptop has a 512mb nvidia card in it. Also there are c & c patches for the game you might want to install.

my pc is a brand new dell xps 710 h2c with dual 768 meg nvidia geforce 8800's. and 4 gigs of ram. im almost positive that it is something to do with media center edition. got a brand new alienware laptop that it does not install at all on
