I'm looking into upgrading the wiring on my '66. To save a little $$$, I was looking into the EZ Wiring 21 Circuit Harness. Has anyone used this harness and how was the experience? I know it will be extra work, but I'm competent with electrical work. Any thoughts/ideas are welcome.
I helped plumb an EZ kit in a 65 Chevelle.
Instructions are ok, but a little vague.
We reused the ignition switch plug and I made an extension so I could work on it easier.
What kind of options do you have/ The kit my friend used was 12 circuit and he is likely to add A/C somwhere down the road.
If it would have been my car I would have:
Harvested some junk yard GM all weather plugs so I could disconnect the engine harness from the fuse block. Same for the rear lighting harness. It's all solid wires (no plugs) from the fuse block to the terminals.
You have to run a 10/12 gauge wire from your battery to the ignition switch. I would have used a "hidden switch & a relay" as a hide out theft deterrent somewhere in this line. But wait til after you have it all wired and working before adding it.

Those are both great ideas, I'll probably integrate that into my setup as well. Where exactly would you find that 'plug'? The Chevelle is pretty plain, but at some point I plan on adding power win, locks, AC, etc. I was going to get the 21 circuit kit. It might be a little overkill, but I've been dreaming about fuel injection too, so the extra circuits might be helpful. thanks for the help. If you have any other suggestions, I'll listen. Thanks.
