: 17x9.5 on 72 elky?

Hello, I'm new to the aftermarket whole aftermarket wheel and tires thing. I'm havin trouble finding if I can put 17x9.5" with 5" backspacing on my 72 Camino, can any one help.

I'm assuming you are talking about that size for the back not the front. I'm running 18 X 9.5" wheels with 5" backspacing and 295/35 tires on the rear of my '69. The fronts are 18 X 8" with 3.5" backspacing and 255/35 tires.

The reason those numbers work on your car is the high ride height. A lower car would need more wheel backspacing.

IMO,that would be the absolute minimum. 5.5" would be my suggestion.
