I've noticed that tech sheets say that the base coat may be mixed with a hardner. What is the prefered mixing method for light blue metalic color with 2021 clear? Also, painting in garage enclosure and wondered if mixing the 2021 with the fast hardner (supercharger?) could possibly minimize dust problems?

Catalyst in the base makes for a more durable paint.

has anyone used the supercharger in the clear?

Personally I would prefer not to use it. If needed just wet sand and buff when done. Accelerators generally are not condusive to (the best) gloss.

I am not a professonal painter only a garage painter, so take this for what its worth. I have used supercharger and did not like it. Seemed to be harder to get down flat with less gloss. I found that using 2042 clear works well in the garage as it dries fairly fast. I can give you some ideas on how to make your garage as dust free as possible if interested
Good Luck

Badboy333, can you post your tips for making a garage as dust free as possible. I will be doing some topcoat painting this summer and need all the tips I can get. Thanks

I'll try to keep this short as I will have to get back to work soon. I have been painting in the garage for 25 years and keep finding ways to improve the process, so others may also have suggestions. Basically I hang heavy plastic around the entire garage to create a booth. I duct tape the top and bottoms of the plastic to keep it tight. I have an exhaust fan that moves a decent amount of air out of the garage, the plastic sheets tape right to the edge of the fan.
I did this for a couple of years and was still getting some dirt in the paint. The exhaust fan was pulling in dirt through any openings. To solve this I now open the back door to the garage and line the opening with air filters for an air conditioning system. This allows for plenty of air that is clean being pulled into the garage. I also filter the exhaust so as not to upset the neighbors. When finished I can remove the plastic and the contents of the garage are not painted like the car (a plus with the wife). I clear coated my Camaro with DC35 (slow drying)in the garage like this and it came out very nice. Lately I have been using a faster drying clear 2042 with great results. I spend about $40.00 to set up the garage this way.
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions
Hope this helps

badboy333, I do similar sheeting im my garage and was wondering what you do to let air into your plastic enclosure? In the past I have just left an area that is not taped or sealed down to the floor open to introduce fresh air. I like your idea of air filters in the door and was thinking, about doing that plus putting a filtered inlet box in the enclosure and taping around that as well. I guess I'm only walling part of the garage off due to immovable items.

I open the back door and line the opening with the air filters for my incoming air source. The plastic tapes right to the edge of the door.
