Has anyone tryed to do this?
I think it would look pretty good, brighten up my engine compartment and comliment the other chrome goodies.
Do both sides have to be done, or can the "plater" just work on one side?

Bob, you asked for opinions right? My personal take is it looks HORIBLE. I have seen it and it makes your car look like a cheap hooker.
The wheel wells are very poor stampings. They were not supposed to LOOK good, they were made to keep water off the engine, PERIOD.
Anyway, you don't want the inner fenders to be the focal point of your engine compartment do you? NO, you want the engine to be. You want the inner fenders to disapear, to NOT be seen so the motor looks it's best.
Spend the money on DETAILLING the engine.

Thanks for the input,
I've decided just to paint them body colour. I agree the chrome would cheapen the rest of the engine compartment.

I painted mine black with blue pearl ghost flames. I airbrush on the side and just did it for fun to see how it would look. Think I'll keep it though. It should hold up pretty good with the 3 coats of clear.

Speaking of inner fenders.... is there a reason to use or not use plastic inners?

Yes, the reson not to use them is that they all crack... every one... they dont weigh much less than stel anyhow.

Not only will they crack but the repros are crappy anyway. From what I hear they need to be modified to line up with everything else (holes and what have you)
