On ebay under 72 chevelles is a yellow chevelle listed as a true SS. The Model number is listed as 1C36F..... If my research is correct for a friend of mine, it was a base chevelle that came with a 307 engine. Only the 1D series had the SS package. The guy selling this car claims it to be a true SS car with documentation. Iam I correct on this?

I agree with you, the VIN indicates a base 72 Chevelle with 2BC 307. According to the TC link under 1972 information http://www.chevelles.com/shop/ss_ident.html#72 it needs a VIN prefix of 1D37 and an engine of at least a 350 to be an SS.

I wrote and ask him about it. I WAS TOLD BUY 2 JUDGES THAT THIS IS A REAL SS.IT IS A 2 TIME WINNER AT THE FLORIDA CHEVY MUSCLE CAR SHOW WERE THAY HAVE VIEWED THE CAR. Nothing was offered in the way of documentation nor was it mentioned in the reply. Very pretty car and it'd make a good driver but he must be 100% incorrect in (1) it's a SS car with 1C and a 307-2 engine code and (2) it has a 350 engine in it. Not sure I'd go as high as the bidding is now, but somebody must like it. I only hope they are being sucked into the 100% numbers matching claim.

Update
FROM WHAT I KNOW AND FOUND OUT THIS IS A TRUE SS 350 AUTOMATIC CAR.
Right.
Maybe the person buying the car will show up here asking questions - after the purchase. :(
