Not hard to do at all. You just have to figure out what type shifter you want to go with, stock with console or aftermarket, remove the stock column shifter and linkage, put the floor shifter in hook it up, maby have to do a little wiring for the neutral safety switch/back up lamps.

Are you talking aftermarket floor shifter or factory floor shifter? The former is pretty easy actually. Not sure on the latter, as I've never installed a factory floor shifter before.

What year car are you working on?

Not too bad of a job.
Are you going auto to stick?
My '67 was already floor shifted when I bought it
so the hole was already cut I did install the console hump though.
It was original pg on the column.
I did change to big block correct items using a nos steering mast and nos big block steering shaft and rebuilt a floor shift manual column.
I put in a correct floor shift dash , along with correct pedals and z bar etc..
I had small block and not correct year stuff which I changed.
You will have to install a z bar bracket on the frame which is fairly easy.
Don't know what year but groundup should have complete linkage kits.

The cars a 1970. I dont have specs on the car as of right now. Its a car that im looking into buying. Im going to check it out in a few days. Edit: im staying auto for now but I may be going stick in the future so it would help plus I like floor shifters better. Just some personal preferance.

I did the swap to a floor shift auto in my '72. The hardest was cutting the hole in the floor for the cable. The factory floors have visible dimples where the bolt holes are drilled, and a flat spot for the cable hole. Assuming you'll also want to add a console too, there's plenty of info here, just take some time with the search function. As for going to stick, I think that's also pretty straight forward.
