I'm going to rebuild my door hinges and i'm wondering how hard it is, and where to start and how to do it.

Not to hard I hope! I'm about do start this work for my Elcamino so I too would like any comments or suggestions.
I have repar kits for the hinges and detents. I think it will be a very wise move to number/match mark each hinge half before any disassembly to keep the hinges together and avoid puting them back together backwards/upside down. I plan to use a cut off wheel to trim the crimped end of the pins off so they can be removed, then clean and inspect/check bushing fit. If everthing checks out I'll paint and reassemble.

Rebuilding the hinges isnt too bad. I did my elky last summer. The problem is getting the door aligned afterwords. Take some white-out or something similar and draw an outline where the hinges currently are. Will make re-assy easier. The doors are heavy and ackward, so be careful. I used a floor jack with some shop towels on the support to hold and manuver the door during removal and re-installation.

Here's a trick I used when I rebuilt mine. When you are ready to reinstall the springs compress them in a vise. Run a piece of wire thru the center and back around and twist ends together. Do this again on the opposite side so that when you take them out of vice they stay evenly compressed. Insert them into the hinge and carefully cut and remove the wires. Worked great for me.

Or just by the tool to compress them for $12!
