ratuned...Both are good polishers.but make sure they are variable speed. You want to compare the weight difference also. Can get get pretty heavy after awhile. :D

www.coastaltool.com (http://www.coastaltool.com) has the porter cable polisher for a good price. i've never used it but heard very good things about it. rob

I own both the porter cable random orbital and a dewalt dw849. I did not like the round makita handle and have had no problems with my delwalt that I bout off ebay used. the porter cable duel action (random orbital) and the dewalt are 2 different animals. In the proper hands the dewalt is a powerful tool. the portal cable is more for beginners who worry about burning paint and are not experienced with buffers. I own both because I got the portal cable first and about a year later picked up the dewalt because I felt I could handle it. Hope this helped.

I use the Makita 9227 and Dewalt, the Makita is my tool of choice. The Makita has a speed adusting dial from 600rpm to 3000rpm,making it very easy to use,I also feel the Makita 9227 is more durable ,It'll last you for many years. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
