Found on eBay, but not being sold -- just used to grab everyone's attention -- worked on me:

That's been posted on here before. I think it's a GTO if I'm not mistaken.

It seems a little "over the top" for me.

Yeah, I saw that at their display at the Woodward dream cruise last year. I'm still trying to figure out why someone would waste their time doing that.

I still dont see how the top unit can force the air in when there is another one sitting just below it. I would think that would be cause too much turbulence between the 2.

I remember seeing something like that online, on a GTO also. I think it was a green color.

This was posted on here about 3 months ago. Somebody posted a link over to the GTO forum, where the guy was on there. I read all his posts, and he said that he did it purely for show. He just wanted something different, to grab somebody's attention. He said that he doesnt race it, and if he was, he'd take off one of the blowers. Its just for show, and him doing what he wants to have fun basically.

The Ebay seller used the pic to grab attention to his auction, doesn't actually own the car. This was discussed this past week over on the PY forums. More often, people try to use the car in scams, though.

The owner also said it had a really nasty idle surge from the blower.... DUH.

twin blowers suck, but twin turbo's are cool? :confused:Twin turbos are run parallel, not in series. (both feed into the intake seperately, not one through the other) I've seen twin-blower setups that actually work well, by running them parallel also.

This setup is the pro-streeter's equivalent to 28" wheels and a 6" lift. :D

The new 2008 Ford turbo diesel will run twin turbos in line; a smaller one to help the performance from a dead stop until the second, larger turbo spins up.

see Derek, not as smart as you thought you were :D

remember the Vortec ( or something like that) "twin" blower from the 80's? The case was shaped like a curved "V" that were almost 45 degree angled and the screws weren't spiral cut, they were machined and almost reminded me of a cheese grater....... what the heck was the name of that company?

The only way he probably remembers it is from a vintage ad, boneyard or show. I think he was about 6.

OK, back to the burger-king double-stacker roots setup...

You can't force air through a roots/GMC type blower unless it's turning... The top blower is feeding X ammount of air into the bottom one. The bottom one can't feed any more air to the engine than what the top one gives it. The only thing it can do is create drag, and rob horsepower.

It's a shiny part that worsens performance for the sake of its ridiculous appearance... just like a set of 28" wheels and a 6" lift.

Im guessing the top unit is a dummy that has no rotors inside, with some sort of pulley and a bearing instead.

I also saw this GTO at the OC cruisin,A lunging idle is putting it mildly! When he cruised thru the parking lots it was unbelievable, the noise ,the surge ,,the crowd followed him around the lot, the ultimate attention getter,no matter how ridiculous. There was also a florescent yellow 57 that had the same basic set up. Both stole the show! Totally awsome, again no matter how ridiculous. The OC cruisin is a week long event you dont want to miss, and that is an understatement!See you there May 17 18 19 20 ! Steve
