69chevellemalibu Mar 19th, 02, 4:45 PM I bought my 69 chevelle malibu with a ss hood included. it had no hinges for it. I took the hinges off my malibu hood to put on my 69 ss hood, but They wont line up at all. They extend way past the holes to bolt on. At my parts store theres hinges for a 68 to 69 hood., but it doesn't say anything about ss or not. Can someone please explain to me why these hinges wont line up its all 69 parts. chev64 Mar 19th, 02, 5:11 PM Its probably a 68 hood, that is what happens when a 68 hood is used on a 69. It will fit 68 and 69 hinges. ------------------ www.yannis68chevelle.com (http://www.yannis68chevelle.com) elkyD68 Mar 21st, 02, 12:04 AM measure the distance between the bolt holes in the hood. if it reads 12¼" or 12¾" then it is a 68 (early and late respectively) if it reads 14" then it is a 69.
