: Needing quick measurement please...

Hey guys, I need to know the measured distance for the following on a '70 Chevelle cowl hood:

What's the exact distance from the very front tip of the hood to the grill's upper chrome trim piece? In other words, how far forward does the front tip of the hood stick out from the front face of the grill's upper chrome trim piece? I'm guessing in the 1" range or so, but it needs to be exact.

I've searched my pic library and I don't have a close up shot of that area unfortunately. If a couple of you could just take a quick measurement for me, I'd be really grateful...thanks! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Wes - Mine's dead-on 1". But, the grill and bumper are about the only things on my car that aren't original from the factory.

Hey thanks Bob for confirming what I was only guessing. So yours is right at an inch? Your non-original hood should be from the same stamp size as the original, so it's got to be close. I'm going with it...thanks again. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
