I haven't locked my day in yet. We will be getting into LR Tuesday or Wednesday. Trying to keep the guys from out west from having to drive too far south in Little Rock, There are several hotels just north of 40 in North Little Rock. There's also a few better places to eat there too. :cool:

The biggest problems that I see are (1) getting the old man from Fort Worth to move and (2) getting the old man from West Little Rock out of bed on the departure day. :D

I've been in Seattle this week and got a call yesterday that my wife had a heart attack and was in ICU. I just got home and up to the hospital to see her about 11pm tonight. She will be getting an angiogram at 8 in the morning and the results will determine what has to be done next. Sooooooooooooooooooooooo, for now, EVERYTHING is on hold for me.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife. Same thing happened to my wife a couple years ago. Women just have different heart problems and there are often very few warning signs. Let me know if there is anything I can do. We've been through the whole thing and came out okay. You guys can make it too! If you don't get the answers you want, KEEP ASKING UNTIL YOU DO.

The Holiday Inn on Shackleford is where Bob stays when he's here on business. It's in a good area, close to a lot of resturants and I-430. I'm not sure how much trailer parking is available, Bob would know.
You're also welcome to store the trailers at my place overnight, I'm about 15 minutes away from there, and Woody, Wilma, and Sissy will provide security.:)
I just hope ya'll aren't going to try to leave at some God-awful early morning hour. My alarm's set for 8:59 AM. :D

Dave has stayed right across the street from the HI several years ago and it was a lot tighter parking there. It's OK, just pricy for a quick one night stop There are two LQs up by the McCain mall too. BILL..........................

(BTW, Wilma, Woody, and Sissy guarded my trailer last time I was up there :) Of course the trailer was stolen January 2, 2007 from a lot in Tyler, but nothing happend up there! )

I was in the McCain (North Little Rock) area today and looked around at the motels. There's a LaQuinta, but it's right next door to Hooters, and you would have to park your trailers in the lot behind the Hooters. Not a good idea IMO.:noway:
Just down the road is a Holiday Inn Express that looks a lot better security-wise. You'll have excellent access to I-40 from here, with a lot less traffic than if you stayed in Little Rock.
Just about every style of restaurant you can imagine is in the immediate area.

And with Justin having a drivers license now (turned 16 on March 20th), I thought he should be able to tag along in the 65!

Well, it ain't gonna be me. That was too crazy last year. I have all new hoses and all new belts and Yes, I'll find some plug wires that don't get burned on the headers. Although I still owe Chris plenty for last year. He can drive my car if he wants to and I'll drive his truck... my convertible is pretty nice in the mornings and evenings with the top down. It also looks better in the dark ;)

But I wasn't thinking I'd make it this time, until just this week. Now it's looking like I'll get to go. :thumbsup: I haven't done much to the car and I have a ton to do. I really wanted to at least get the disk brakes on and fix the power steering. Better get busy.

I'll try to dig it out this weekend Mike. I might bring it with me so you can get pictures and measurements. It's nothing like the one in your post. It has a filler piece that goes between the player and the dash.

Zac and I FINALLY got the tranny out of the 70 last night and put it in the fixture. All I did was drain it and pull the side cover. There were no obvious problems that I could see visually, so I guess it needs to come apart for closer inspection. I don't know when I'll get that done because I'll be working on the plane Sat and on Sunday I have to pay attention to a couple of Moms:D. So it looks like it will be next week before I can rip the tranny apart and determine if it needs parts. I have a couple of spares I can stick in if necessary, but I'd prefer to put this one back in A-1 condition and put it back in time to head east. :)

I'll spend the time and money getting my shop built, that I've been trying to get built for over a year now. Finally picked the spot, have a design, ...need the time and money.

Last week was the week that killed my chances of going, I was running a workshop and had to put in about 8 straight 14-16 hour days. My daughter's graduation from High-school, too. That's why I haven't been on this site lately. Never even got a chance to finish putting in the starter I rebuilt, much less shine or polish. I know it's about the people, and you guys are the best, but it's not really about my car being ready either... I just have too much going on.

I wish I was going. I've not missed a CB since I got my car, this will be my first real "miss". I was even gonna try and receive the bacon this year! But I'll be thinking of y'all and watching for Chuck's day-by-day blow-by-blow. Man it's killing me just writing this email. :(

Pete thanks for the kudo's on my car and I have to confess I didn't do the body/paint or interior but I literally have touched every single nut bolt and screw while doing the rest. I'm tired but only have about 24 more hours of detailing to finish.

Pete thanks for the kudo's on my car and I have to confess I didn't do the body/paint or interior but I literally have touched every single nut bolt and screw while doing the rest. I'm tired but only have about 24 more hours of detailing to finish.

I can't believe you arn't going to do the CB thing this year...bummer!!!I can barely believe it myself. I love going to CB but I have a chance to stabilize my job, and get my homestead in order.

But it could LITERALLY be a million-dollar mistake to take off right now. There is no doubt the correct decision for me this year is to stay put. Remember I only took this job about a year and a half ago... I'm still sort of on "probation". By this time next year, the job could be secure, leaving me more time to work on the vert. As for The Homestead.... it'll wait. :D

And Les, looking at your car, the bar has been raised even higher. Wow, it's a beauty! You guys go and have a great time. I'll be back!:yes:

Elky is all serviced and ready to roll. Cleaned it up for the drive over. Usually gets a lot of bugs leaving at 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning, so the real cleaning is still to come. Hope to make the first leg of the trip solo to Little Rock with no problems. Haven't really had it on a road trip since last October going to Crusin' the Coast in Biloxi. Nothing against you "trailer" guys, but driving these cars on trips sure is a lot of fun. :yes:

Hi Pete, no we stayed at a Holiday Inn in North Little Rock this year instead of Loanoke. All 8 of us made it to Goodlettsville about 5:30 PM and the visiting has begun.

The wind deflector on the trailer is new because it is a new trailer I ordered the end of April and picked up last Saturday. It is a Texas Rollback aluminum 20' heavy duty and rides and pulls like a dream.

We will miss you this year and look forward to seeing you next time.

Had a great time as usual. Trip was safe and pretty much un-eventful.....a good thing. ;)

I pulled into my drive around 6:00 PM last night. 11 hours returning. 12 hours going. Hmmm. Must have been that 2 hour lunch and gas stop in Memphis on the way out. :)

Already looking forward to doing it again next year. :thumbsup:
