On the underside, are these two different? Wondering if I can take my domed hood and just have a body shop cut a hole in it and paint a flapper door and I can install the vacuum/electrical parts. Thanks.

Taylor, they are different. The cowl induction hood has additional structuring that mates with the air cleaner assembly. Also, if you cut a hole, you have an unfinished edge. The hole in the cowl hood has rolled edges.

By the time you pay a body shop to "try" to change a dome hood to a c/i hood, you could by 5 real c/i hoods...
