Has anyone got any complaints about OPG?

Other than slightly out of line "shipping and handling" fees, no.

Ditto to John D's comments except a little more than "...slightly..."

I have had problems with them in shipping the wrong parts. They have shipped over eight wrong parts and expected me to go through the trouble of shipping it back to them before sending the right part. I've had no problems with Year One.

I have had problems with inferior parts/damaged parts from them. I ordered a new gas tank for my 67 and it showed up with a big dent in the bottom. I sent it back and they wondered why? "We didn't see anything wrong so we put it back on the shelf" they said.$90.00 tissue dispenser with a big scratch in the face. Rocker panels with the wrong profiles, trim with big blemishes in them.

I've ordered several parts from them. Overall I had good service. The only 2 times I had a problem is when I had to return something. I ordered a '66 dash bezel and I recieved a '67. It took about a month to get it returned and the right one sent out to me. THeir service is good otherwise. Just don't try to return anything. I had to return a glove box bezel, because the one I recieved was chipped. I told them to keep the part and credit my credit card. It takes them a few weeks to get your credit card reimbursed. No real complaints that will keep me from going to them in the future.

I've used OPG almost exclusively to rebuild four cars...estimated well over $5K worth of parts. I've never had to make a return, I've always gotten the parts in a reasonable time, even those that were backordered. The worst fit I've had on a part was the grille extension on my 67 Elky. It took about three minutes to make it conform to the proper contour of the fender.

Yes, the shipping charges are outrageous, but that's true of several suppliers including JC Whitney, Summit, Jegs Ecklers etc. It appears that instead of competing on parts prices, the suppliers are making the shipping departments a profit center.

I use to get kinda P.O.'d at high shipping costs, but then I figures that if a store is going to do counter business as well, then stuff that gets ship should realistically have an additional charge becuase it's more work for them when compared to picking it up at the counter.
A store that is just 100% mail order, though, has no reason the charge for handling, in my opinion. That should be part of doing business for them, and already be reflected in the price. It like the current offer for those weedwhacker replacement strings. Included in the offer is a free lifetime supply of their replacement strings. Even though they're free, there is a $6 s&h om each package, and the minimum package request is 3. So your "free replacements' cost you $18 each time you need more. That's a crime, in my opinion.
Another way to look at it is this: OPG does do counter sales. Even if you didn't have to pay sales tax, do you think you could find anyone here that lives in their vacinity, that would be willing to go to the counter, round up all your parts for you, box them up and ship them for less than what they already do it for? Maybe once or twice...

I've only ordered from OPG a couple of times, with no complaint's. I normally get most of my stuff from National Part's Depot. They were cheaper on the items I ordered at the time. Plus, I got my stuff in an amazing short period of time since they have a store in Michigan and I'm in Illinios. I guess everyone has their favorite places no matter how much the other guy's might complain about the same supplier. That's like I have to drive past K-mart to get to Wal-Mart, but I'll do it every time. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/rolleyes.gif Cal

I had a problem with them a few years ago regarding a convertible top I ordered from them. After purchasing the top I waited 2 months to put it on. When I went to install it the top did not fit. Wrong top. After about 4 months of complaining and a letter from a professional top installer stating that it was the wrong top, they finally gave me the credit.

I have been using them for 12 years and other than that I have had no problems. I have now switched to getting my parts from Ground Up as they are local for me.

OPG tried to charge me $23 shipping on a $90 parts one time. No thanks!

Summit and Jegs have a flat rate of $7.99 handling charge/order with NO shipping charge!

Since you asked, it will not be considered flaming to answer the question.

I will never buy from OPG again. Purchased 3 times from them (you know, gave them the benefit of the 3 strikes out rule) and every single time I had problems. Once, they took 5 days to ship, even items that had in stock because they had "too many orders and could not keep up." Second time, it took 3 months to receive 3 parts that were backordered for "2 weeks" the other time received wrong parts. Shipping is high, yes.

P.S. Summit does not charge for shipping and every single time items are at my house 2 days after I order.
