Talking about the stainless around the convertible top opening in the rear (that the boot cover clips to). I got the 4 screws, but can't see anyway to detach the clips that are holding it.

I know the answer is in the Fisher Body manual, but mine is "In the mail" so I don't have it yet.

I am not sure about the 64/5, but on the 66s you have to unbolt the rear of the convertible top and lower it to access the screws, which are located in a few places around the car. Even after getting to the screws they usually dont want to come out easily, so I dont remove this piece of chrome unless I have to...especially if the convertible top is a good one. Gotta be really careful!

No remaining screws, top is shredded so no problem getting in there... but there seems to be some sort of clips in there, instead of screws. I had thought that perhaps they were like windshield clips, but that'd be too easy.

Thanks though!

The long rear sweeping molding has a number of push on clips across it's length.
It also is secured at the rear corners RS/LS with a clip that has a stud attached .READ delicate, You can acces the nuts from the bottom corners. soak'em good with penatrating oil. these are hard to find clips.
You see cars that that in the prossess of removing these corner stud/clips brake them off or spin them in the molding. The most common fix I have seen in that case , is they use the stainless steel snap botton's to hold the corners down.
So procees with CAUTION
